Cheryl Robeson Clemmons
Founder The Stars Foundation and World Orphans Day
|
Cheryl Robeson Clemmons has traveled to over 30 countries in the past 20 years. Involved as part owner of an import/export business, she visited exotic locales, including Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi, Paris, Munich, Monaco, Milan, Hong Kong, Beijing, Taipei, Bangkok, Phuket, Alaska, Caracus, and Acapulco to name a few. She found in many parts of the world that children were undernourished, and left alone to fend for themselves at 6 years old and younger. She was devastated by what she saw in India, Mexico, and parts of the Orient, and vowed to make a difference in the lives of these children. As her celebrity marketing work began to generate charity rebates to help the homeless and orphans in the Orient, she realized that the talents of the entertainment industry could be utilized to maximize the efforts.
After meeting with numerous agencies and departments at the United Nations, and as the world became more appalled and educated about the pandemic of AIDS and the aftermath effect on its families, Cheryl turned the foundation's focus toward the most devastating tragedy of the century...AIDS orphans and their plight for survival.
Some of the highlights that illuminated the vision:
- Helping the National Alzheimer's Association and Kathryn Crosby re-locate "The Crosby" to her home state of North Carolina, which would generate millions of dollars for charities over the next 13 years.
- Spearheading 3 Celebrity Benefit Golf events that included NFL and country music stars- with concerts and national PSA's by Vince Gill
- Marketing celebrity products with charitable rebates on Home Shopping Network
- Identified a multi-million dollar two year sponsorship for the Bill Cosby/ Willie T. Ribbs Indy 500 team;
- United Way consultation that resulted in a $1,000,000 donation from local celebrity
- Assisted in the marketing efforts for Ms. Colleen Brooks' (Garth Brooks' mother) salsa company for Wal Mart distribution
- Initiated the Founding of World Orphans Day for the purpose of generating a day for global awareness of the issues facing AIDS orphans, and children displaced by war and poverty, and natural disasters.
Ms. Colleen Brooks, Garth Brook's mother, a genuine supporter, helped Cheryl conceptualize a major benefit tour/radio simulcast to promote peace and to support orphans and impoverished children. Her vision and passion for helping the unfortunate will live on through the Hearts on Fire Campaign and World Orphans Day events, as we start the tour of music (Third Millennium Peace Tour).
The unrelenting natural disasters and wars of this new millennium call for a united front among the international humanitarian relief community, governmental and faith based organizations. Ms. Clemmons and The Stars Foundation desire to bring star power with resources to support the cooperative agencies helping displaced families, children, and orphans. With this goal in mind, the vision of the City of Angels--a global humanitarian think tank and command center- is beginning its business plan development stages. The original concept was creatively envisioned by Colleen Brooks and Cheryl Clemmons in 1996.
Over the past 20 years, Cheryl has been blessed to meet royal family members, leaders of international organizations, US Senators and Congressmen, high profile entertainers, heads of state, Ambassadors, Finance Ministers, Cultural Ministers, and church leaders. It is her desire to serve as a facilitator, through God's divine connections and will, to bring a global network of true humanitarians who are uniting together with Hearts on Fire to change the world into one of peace, love and compassion for the needy children of the world!
With the support team consisting of Global Humanitarian Advisory Councils, Boards of Reference, Honorary Chairpersons, Entertainment and Media Councils, Radio Promotion Agencies, TV Electronic Marketing networks, Business Development Council, and Board of Directors..and a host of well known entertainers in the field of sports, film, music, she knows the outcome of everyone's combined efforts will help change the lives of orphans and displaced children.
